Plants have always been at the heart of Rosara. Our collection is thoughtfully curated, bringing together exceptional plants from trusted growers across the UK and mainland Europe, alongside locally grown varieties wherever possible. Every plant we offer is Plant Healthy Accredited, 100% peat free, and selected for its quality, resilience and garden performance.

For more than 30 years, we've cultivated enduring relationships with some of the industry's finest growers, sourcing plants that reflect our commitment to excellence. Each one is carefully inspected before it reaches our benches, ensuring it meets the standards our customers have come to expect.

Our passion for horticulture extends beyond the plants themselves. Whether you're introducing a single specimen or shaping an entire landscape, our experienced team offers considered, knowledgeable advice to help you choose the right plant for the right place, creating gardens that flourish for years to come.

THE YURT

Hidden amongst the gardens at Rosara in Oxfordshire, The Yurt is a restaurant shaped by the landscape around it. Awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, it has been recognised by the Michelin Guide for its generous cooking, warm hospitality and exceptional value.

Our seasonal menus celebrate the very best of the region, with ingredients harvested from our own kitchen garden and sourced from trusted local producers. Guided by the seasons, every dish reflects a simple philosophy: exceptional ingredients, cooked with skill and served with warmth.

The Yurt began with a simple idea: that a building should borrow from nature, not compete with it. Constructed from reclaimed materials and shaped by circular design principles, it reflects our belief that sustainability is as much about thoughtful craftsmanship as it is about the landscape that surrounds us.

Carefully curated sustainable gifts and homeware - we believe in mindful purchases and sharing ideas and inspiration. Supporting local artisans and great British crafts people, we enjoy sharing talent that has a light touch on planet and people. From great British maker David Mellor, to local biodiversity enthusiast, Helen’s Honey, we stock a wide range of products. Our small Book room has an engaging collection of lifestyle books from celebrated authors including Arthur Parkinson and Kathy Slack and is host to occasional sculptures - currently we are showcasing Boxing Hares by Ed Murray.

At Rosara at Nicholsons, you'll find a delightful array of events designed to bring people together and connect with nature. We host everything from hands-on horticultural workshops—like crafting a vibrant flower yard with Arthur Parkinson—to Christmas wreath-making sessions that end with a two-course lunch at our Michelin-recommended Yurt restaurant. Each event is a blend of learning, sustainability, and sharing ideas that really leave a lasting impact. So, whether you’re into horticulture or simply curious, there is something for everyone.

We are privileged to be so well connected with the land and it is through this understanding that we see the significant impacts on climate and nature. We are working hard to find a pathway to minimise and mitigate these changes.

We are a team of passionate horticulturalists and environmentalists, dedicated to influencing with purpose and clarity. Collaboration and curiosity drive everything we do.
We believe in collaboration and sharing ideas. Our events are often thought leading and we are brave in this space. We would love you to join our journey and share your ideas.
From elemental the Green Design Tool, to The Forest Canopy Foundation, we offer a home to these two not for profits community interest companies.
Our main charity in Africa is called Women in the Wild - establishing trees in The Mara region of Kenya, run by Maasai women.
We also have a conservation project in the Kakamega Rainforest, protecting over 600 indigenous tree species.
