A lovely short Dog Walk from Rosara at Nicholsons
North Aston is perfect dog walking country.
Our tree and hedge nursery at Rosara is surrounded by an ancient woodland walk called the Ladies Walk and this is the perfect place to start your dog walk.
You may park your car in Rosara car park, but do let the team know in the shop that you will be leaving site. Head back up the entrance drive and turn left on Middle Aston Lane walking down the side of the nursery. Just before you leave the wood on the left-hand side, follow the footpath into the wood and this is the Ladies walk. It is a wild footpath through unmaintained woodlands so do expect brambles and nettles. There is a spot where you can rest a while and take in the breathtaking views across the valley. You may note a very solid bench, hewn from nature, by a lovely man called Rob. Rob made this bench for our daughter Rosi who wanted to place a bench in this wood in memory of Roderick Nicholson, our founder and her grandpa.
You can continue down to the end of our wood (at Poo’s tree) where you will see a footpath heading to the right, off down into the valley across grassland. You can either take this footpath to further your walk or simply turn left up the hill through our trees and along the bottom of the nursery, popping out in the village of North Aston by some estate railing. At this junction, you can choose to turn right and visit the most beautiful church of St Mary’s North Aston or simply turn left heading back up through the village and back to the nursery where a lovely cup of coffee and well earned cake will await you at The Tiny café or you can book yourself in for a magnificent lunch at the Yurt.
